Ok. So I am a bit confused... The reason being that, talking to Garratt at Tele-traffic about the Ultralyte 1000 and its 5,000 price tag and 3 stroke laser, hardware, firmware and software differences... Obviously gave a suggestive preconception about the device. And it was not until after that when I saw a photo of a strange device on his website with the group photograph... So I thought that was it....the 1000 model. He did mention Someone sending him a picture of the back of an Ultralyte, but I didn't send him one... Anyway..I don't know what the device is in the promo photo anymore.. because here is the 1000 model... www.teletrafficuk.com/products/speed-enforcements/handhelds/ultralyte-1000/And it just looks like a LTI LR 100 !? No fancy screen on the back. So is it a joke or am I just stupid? I am getting contradictory information, or just not as thorough as you are at reading his website letter for letter, page for page. This is the image that's thrown me off... What is the blue device? Not a 5,000 pounds customized LTI 1000? Is it a prototype? Joke? Phish? Completely different make of device? I obviously have not done any proper research and have been thrown off by my suppositions and assumptions this photo has conjured. I will find the answer after you have!

Behold!
The trucam! And a home made version as well by Someone, LOL. Both still completely useless for prosecution on a road with illegal road signage that does not comply with TSRGD.

This guy does a YouTube video of an LTI Ultralyte looking down the viewfinder with a decent camcorder
Ultralyte LR-B At Night:
I am aware the television tells you all you need to know about the LTI without even mentioning the word. Talking straight. So take my own videos as beginner lever LTI, as this is not advanced communication level. :/

So, this, experiment with the LTI compact and LR Ultralytes on a set of stairs shows that both devices can register motion well from stepped surfaces...
Also, as there are people using the stairs a bit as well.. I get to test the precision of both devices between and around people and on the people moving at walking speed.
My conclusion is that both devices must be well calibrated and that the beam is not as wide as the police state ( 3ft ) or 90cm.
And that the signal of a stronger central area of the laser light, or a very definite edge is present.
