I do not notice on the Published Dorset Police Thresholds information, seperate RED light threshold times for CAR/HGV. Also for the 56Mph one?! I Know that Fixed cameras use some kind of height/size detection to decide between one of 2 settings I think? for regular vehicle & large vehicle!? as you can see when driving past HGV electronic weight limit signs that do not light up when a car drives past. So IS there different time setting on RED light or NOT? and what about the actual SPEED of change between lights? Do i have to go and time them all with a stop watch?!

It is also assumed that Police Fines ticket Process bureaus employ a degree of common sense when processing fines & N.I.P.s for exampler if there were a long ladder extending behind aflatbed truck that triggers a camera and is obvious in the photograph. To send a prosecution to court, or apply and condictional offer endorsement conviction, when there is "beyond reasonable doubt" that an offence was not the fault of the driver, would be a bad decision to make. (IMHO)

Someone is paying a lot of money to take a HGV test & a lot of money to learn about road signs!

A few more examplers of LONG vehicles that might get caught by a RED light fixed camera, when the driver was already PAST the red light and did NOT see it before it changed.

I had a joke around the time all this started or before.. it was a "guns N roses" joke. it was when the band split up... "where is AXL going with no wheels on?"

A guy pulled a red scratch card, like Dynamo when He swapped 2 Yellow ones in this mornining?! im like whaa?! & this afterwards..

A mini is so small & low down I would be surprised if any get caught by fixed cameras, unless they are blatantly in excess.

This Royal Mail Van is LIMITED to 70mph! But I followed it doing that 70Mph in the 60Mph section of the A38 North! Near where I got the videeo of the Department of Transport TAX check discussion!

I recorded the Royal mail Van, but afterwards it HAD NOT RECORDED IT?!

Someone had dicked with the phone I am certain so I couldnt get the footage! - As a matter of co-incidence my Ossett bypass footage still not seen (only photo) is NEXT to a royal mail transit van that i was overtaking (dual carriageway) i got this photo of the A38 after the 60mph section (which is a loada rubbish limit anyways)

Heres an ambulance in a Lay-by Ashby-de-la-Zouch that could easily have been a mobile speed camera van!
No connection to traffic lights though! But these 2 vans are using a Lay-by correctly filtered to the front!

If only they made the effort when enforcing the traffic lights. Dont they have the vehicle specs on the computer? i mean isnt the police linked into the DVLA? or only when it wants to put points on your licence? dont they check the vehicle dimensions with the camera settings?

Re-doing the white lines in the rain is no problem.

Ashby de la zouch, no excuses for not keeping the road markings in order.. especially when enforcing a speed limit.

Shame the Mill lane silk road markings have not been given the due attention...

A railway crossing today, with a fixed light camera! dont think i have seen one before! this one certainly requires the warning signs to be in place for serious safety issues! without a doubt or else train wreck! funny the sat nav & deliverys were this way today!?

CAUSING SOMEONE TO CONTRAVENE A TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER

This is a criminal offence.

If you start to look at it as "accidents" for insurance purposes, If these required signs are NOT in place for SAFETY reasons..

The BOTH the police AND local council can be fined or Litigated/prosecuted AS A CRIMINAL OFFENCE.

Because not having important safety sign up CAN CAUSE ACCIDENTS and at places like traffic lights IT IS VERY IMPORTANT.

Thus, Even though the "speeding" offence legislation mentions requisite signs being erected for speed limits...

A TRAFFIC LIGHT junction is governed by a TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER, and not having the required signage for safety warnings in place is EVEN MORE SERIOUS than Section .85 as that is only regarding "BEING CONVICED AS A DRIVER BY THE POLICE (who MUST check road signage at fixed speed & traffic light cameras as part of servicing them)

The Traffic RED LIGHT TRO, if you have been caused to trigger the camera & not given the required safety warning on approach, then it is a CRIMINAL OFFENCE not to the DRIVER but to the COUNCIL and POLICE (if there IS A CAMERA AT THE SITE) Also Chief of police who usually is CONSULTED over placement of Fixed Cameras for purpose of enforcement.

So, not only can it causean accident where you trigger the camera, but it can cause a VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT especially if you are a NEW DRIVER and have just learned the Warning signs as PART OF YOUR THEORY TEST. As you can only have 6 points before disqualification as well! so WHY ARE YOU HAVING TO LEARN ALL THE SIGNS WHEN THEY ARE NOT BEING PUT UP AT A LOT OF CAMERA SITES?!

That is the question.

And if a lot of people are reporting this & complaining... And the council do NOT act.. then they are Aiding & abetting the procuration of convictions at a site where the required safety features are not erected or maintained & THAT is a criminal offence.

No one should be Employed by this Welsh "GO SAFE" road safety speed enforcement place, or ANY TICKET PROCESS OFFICE, Road safety PARTNERSHIP or ANYWHERE.. If they do not understand the very clear & simple instructions that the Highways Signs Manuals give. After all most of these employees DRIVE as well!! so they are educated on the road signs!

The fact that MAGISTRATES are ON THE ROAD SAFETY PARTNERSHIPS and people are sending in defence material to courts (FAR AWAY PLACES) and CLERKS either are doing Houdini tricks with the paper work or the Ticket offices are.. (or both) is besides the POINT THAT THIS IS ABOUT SAFETY!

Saturday 21 November 2015, an brief investigation into traffic light timing and times of vehicles crossing the line

EXAMPLE VIDEOS FOR REFERANCE, you can stop watch the lights changing yourself with your mobile phone (if the you tube video conversion runs at the correct real time?) to compare red/orange/green exact phase times.

The MAJORITY of lights are about 1.6 seconds total change to GO from stopped. and approx 3.0 seconds to STOP from go. This is not always the case, though. And also sometimes even having your finger over the stop watch timer is not PERFECT timing! SO IMAGINE that precision timing with a LONG PRESS BRAKE PEDAL! while watching the road! even more reaction time needed! and the TYPE of light change is DIFFERENT! on different lights, a soft fade or HARD change, and different times within the 1.6s and 3.0s on respective colours at different traffic lights. and i had times outside of those and within those times as well. THEN there are the vehicle times taken to drive over the line which we will look at a little later.

I film the time of the lights changing to go for my first traffic light video and NOTE that the STICKER on the car makes me think about "YOU WOULDNT WANT TO SLAM HARD ON THE BRAKES at the TRAFFIC LIGHTS TO STOP SHARP if you had a BABY in the car in a baby seat on the chair. Also babys dont take to whiplash too well..

We have COVERED traffic light warning signs and their requirement.

Here at the 3 Nun's roundabout there is a traffic light sign before the lights and THEN ANOTHER sign, before the NEXT set again, outside the actual 3 NUNS PUB. (no traffic light cameras)

There is a SET of LIGHTs and a pedestrian crossing as well BEFORE the fixed camera lights here (just like Mill lane, Macclesfield) AND THE LIGHTS STILL HAVE THEIR OWN TRAFFIC LIGHT WARNING SIGN FOR THAT FIXED CAMERA SET, AFTER THE PRIOR TRAFFIC LIGHTS! (also a bunch of other distracting signs as well to boot) But anyway.. so MILL LANE SHOULD HAVE THE SIGN BEFORE THE FIXED RED LIGHT CAMERA SET, AND AFTER THE PRIOR SETS! - THIS CAMERA SITE AS EXAMPLE! and dont forget Tysons own Bradford RED LIGHT CAMERA, in the City with ONLY ONE sign before about 3 SETS, camera on the 3rd set i think?! Ask Alan White about it. AS HE IS SUPPOSED TO CARRY OUT THE ROAD SIGN CHECKS WHEN ATTENDING TO THE CAMERAS

A mini has the most advantage at traffic light camera timing as is is very small & short, so later to get the back end as the lights change, while a long wheel base van is twice as likely as a regular car, as it is twice as long as a car.

I will post this as a co-incidence, but Swift print (not fixed camera photo printing) were outside with a couple guys up the ladder, taking a "BANNER" down, they had 3 different ladders up there! my phone was forces shutdown with notable battery play not allowing me to GET them with a photo without really trying hard, I had to re start & charge my phone, my phones timing was all off with the buttons & screen changing as well making it very difficult for me to capture these banner guys. I noted meaning of significance to ME with 3 ladders up there, as 3 different forces at PLAY with thetraffic lights 1.THE CAMERA. 2. THE TRAFFIC LIGHTS and 3. THE CONTROL CENTRE AND REMOTE COUNCIL/GOV

I was reminded of my stress at BOLTON MAGISTRATES, when A OFFICER gave evidence against me that he had "CALIBRATED" the camera. He walked in as if he had a broom stick up his bottom, stiff as a prick, and brought in a CAMERA HOUSES CASE, and did a little DEMO of calibrating a camera with this "dummy" version of a real camera. (not the actual one) Which was a read out set statement drivel.
WHAT BEARING DID THAT HAVE OF THE TRAFFIC LIGHT TIMESAND THE ENTIRE RIG?! NOTHING! It was really a loada bullshit little pantomime act with a dummy camera & a script. pathetic in a court of law. (IMHO)

They need some kind of DVLA time sheet for +times & -times to RED light camera times for vehicle length calculations but oh NO not so professional AS A COURT ACT DUMMY EH? oh, no.

A lot of cyclists seem to completely IGNORE traffic lights. Do they get banned from cycling? no.
This one is not blatent but sneaky.. I HAVE seen ones who are just COMPLETE DANGER IGNORANCE TO LIGHTS!

Ok, so after HAZEL GROVE, Rising Sun Pub Camera (NO ID NUMBER) we head to Macclesfield! Via Poynton! Which is a shamble with no pavements! REALLY dangerous! mini roundabouts horrible! I like though the term Poynton.. as in POINT ON? what is the POINT of having the signs ON? safety?! err Poynton ITSELF unsafe as fuck! A Joke?!

Anyway... we pass these traffic lights WITH TRAFFIC LIGHT WARNING SIGNS BEFORE EACH SET on the way to Macclesfield! (an a bike & tractor as well!)

THESE traffic lights with warning sign (no camera) have a STOP LINE BEFORE the roads split, UNLIKE MACCLESFIELD MILL LANE where the SPLIT is at the SAME PLACE, which is MISLEADING. This one here doesnt allow "give way" next to a RED light.

couldnt get decent photos as my phone was misbehaving & forcing me to do things/go place/re-do things etc..
& i lost a decent video of the location by forced shutdown as well..of the cars shooting by past the left give way lane while the other cars had to stop.. i have the file but it will not play, it says "not recognized"

The WARNING SIGN, is a few sets of lights BACK, under a tree, and FILTHY! also has 3 signs on one post when you are not allowed more than two! also there are more traffic lights & pedestrin crossings between & NOT at the stated distance! so there SHOULD BE ANOTHER WARNING SIGN BEFORE THE FIXED CAMERA LIGHTS REALLY STATING DISTANCE!

So compared to all our previous examples it is WRONG.

Dewsbury fixed camera location, traffic light time (full change) red to green

1.8 seconds from red to green.
3.0 seconds from green to red.

Mill lane fixed camera location,

repeat stopwatch test at same location mill lane

(smell cannabis coming from somewhere at this point while stood next to traffic lights. but can not see where from (also smelled it outside manchester magistrates court!)

That on the M62 on the way over the moors toward Manchester on my way to Macclesfield today (21 november)

there was a flatbed truck with SAM as the company on it, like a small recovery vehicle and it was at the same time the "SALT spreading" was on the legend signs... but my phone didnt let me get the photo of it under the sign as it kept stopping me from doing it..(red cab, silver back) but i gota photo of the sign by a different truck....

I did get a video i think but thats vanished as well!? whaa?

ALSO heading the OPPOSITE DIRECTION on the M62 at the same time-ish was a WELSH POLICE VAN?! that said HEDLU on it!? Welsh for police is HEDLU.. quite funny as its a bit like HEAD LOO? lol.

What was a welsh police van doing in West Yorkshire?! at that time?!

Also while I was at Mill Lane lights a Green van pulled up with the buisness name "Collins" on it, just as I got there to film..

Ok, so after I had done at Macclesfield I headed back and there was this vehicle pulling a strange contraption, a green box that was empty like some part of a wood cutter? or logging machine? with a number 5 on it?! perfect for towing through the traffic lights to set the camera off! lol.

And THEN i met a gritting machine spreading salt on the road! i filmed it and then got past it at Hazel grove and i saw this supermarket car park to the left hand side, which i saw a parking space & i looked in the mirror & i had time to get into the carpark and face sideways on right next to where the gritter would pass over the white line at the traffic lights there! and I did that, and i saw it was a perfect spot to time and record some vehicles going over the white line and how long they take to cross it !

And i timed various vehicles all going at approx the same speed and a normal car most always was either 0.4 or 0.5 seconds to fully drive over the white line. and you could tell the slower ones by sight and they were like 0.6 driving slower...

but a VAN like long wheel base, that I drive.. THOSE were 0.9 & 0.8 seconds! TWICE the time it takes a car! so considering the measurements I did to my mums car that is correct that its about twice as long and takes twice the time as well to drive over the white line!

this is all at the same-ish speed that most the vehicles were driving at.. and a BUS.. that was 1.5 seconds to cross the white line!

The videos didnt come out too well at night time as the shutter speed is a bit slow, but my stopwatch times were consistent and i repeated them to make certain that it was done enough times to get a true average time which was correct, and the experiment proved correct each time.

so here are 9 or so videos to document what i just said, except for the stopwatch times that are just "noted" down, i guess as any police officer makes a note of a speed or time in their notes/statement.

from a hand held radar gun reading?! oh also when i was driving back past the "RISING SUN" there was a song on the radio singing RISING SUN! at the SAME TIME! listen!?

Just to note that my PHOTO time on the POLICE photograph, Mill lane RED light camera 0.78 seconds? well half of that = 0.39 seconds for the first photo. and second photo 1.28, half of that = 0.64 so both photos are well under the 1 second threshold published by the police force. And with the vehicle tyre size as well, and the vehicle speed being 27mph? in a 30mph area? that 3mph less would also cause me to lag a bit going through the lights, so that would account for the remaining times and we could within reasonable sense conclude that in fact i never drove past a red light at all when i crossed the line, and it was Orange just as or just after i passed the line. Also they SHOULD have a photo BEFORE the FRONT of the vehicle crosses the line at all to show what the driver view sees BEFORE the vehicle passes over the line.

I was talking to this Roadwork's Guy about his trailer & he has never had a fine through from a fixed camera while towing it. So I wonder if the trailer ones that are "Obvious" are all Pulled, by the ticket ofices.. so that no-one gets wise to the fact that longer vans can get caught out as well, in fact that MAY be the bread & butter of the ticket office red light cameras?! other than red light runners?!
