Ok so I have only in the last week reported 3 speeed camera vans, one in Skipton to North Yorkshire police where the national speed limit signs are of illegal size on the road, and twice on the A19 southbound just before the York exit (A19) off the dual carriageway where motion imposed from passing vehicles renders the device unstable & unfit for home office approved tripod stability for professional precision readings as it is shaking around.
But today in Collingham, West Yorkshire.. just near the border for North Yorkshire I encounted a guy just stood at the side of the road on the way out of the village! with one of those hand held lasers! he had a white land rover parked down a dirt track road to the side out of sight. I was just following the car in front like normal and then.. "whaaaa??" im like whatr the hell??? then I noticed all the signs were leaning in bushes and some not facing forward and other at insane height settings well above normal height like twice as high!!!
So I went back and aproached him.. im like... "what are you doing?" he is like "just move on".
I said have you completed your required sign checks? I said this few times and he was like.. "just move on".
he then said "yes i have" (done sign checks) im like well those are above the correct height.
So I got my phone out and thought, I am going to get evidence on film that he claims has done sign checks and that he has in reality not done it....
So here are the photos I took and google maps shots as well as some more info and the video. I am just about to report it to professional standards as I did earlier but to North Yorkshire as it is in fact West Yorkshire for Collingham.

Here is the video of me challenging the officers sign checks. He a bit was like a slimmer version ofr Mark williams Burns.
A hand held lazer device is approved by Home office for use to obtain speed reading from passing vehicles.
Device reading must be checked and *Noted by witness - police officer, into statement.
Device does not record video or image evidence.
A testimony & statement (including any written record made by that person) of one person alone cannot in law be used to prosecute a driver of a speeding offence.
2 police officers would be needed to give testimony that the reading was taken and correct at the time.
There is no proof, evidence or fact other than the *claim* by the police officer that any vehicle drove at any speed if evidence is not contained on the device for future inspection.
Alone officer by law should not be gathering evidence with it alone, regardless of its home office approved viability to obtain a temporary speed reading with for notation into the officers statement of events.
