www.debretts.com/expertise/essential-guide-to-the-peerage/ranks-and-privileges-of-the-peerage/In 1999 Tony Blair completely attempted to ruin and disorder the Government of the country by making stupid and retarded changes to the House of Lords. By Magna Carta the Jurisdiction of a subject is in their person. Not in parliament as parliament could be dissolved or prorogued. Judges, Knights, Lords and other nobles can make Judgments because of their rank. Not because of where they are. Because they move around the country and have Circuits for the local areas. This is the legacy of Magna Carta which cannot be undone. Not certain about abroad with soldiers. As they are subjects only usually. You can't take away the ability of the House of Lords to make Judgments because the ability to judge is not in the building itself, it is in the person. Like chess pieces. If the king did remove the mace from parliament removing its authority, any temporary appointed ministers would immediately loose Jurisdiction. But the king, privy council and peers who have a rank permanent still retain their personal authority to judge the subjects. In fact the Archbishop of Canterbury could Judge and give Judicial orders if he wanted to. I am pretty certain that it is the correct framework legacy from Magna Carta. Though there is some reference to high birth that may be purely hereditary and not at all concerned with appointment

Personally I think the supreme court is a supreme waste of time.
And Lords should do more work, rather than Lord Hanningfield for example who evades hard work.
In fact, as the highest court and authority in England... the Lords shouldn't really be constrained to the chamber for their Judgments. Because it doesn't actually need an assembly to make a judgement in theory.
In fact, as Lords are from various parts of the country, really shouldn't their Jurisdiction of appeal, highest appeal and petition be exercised where needed, or where demand is? Not unlike the Knights who could administer Justice and deal with matters in their travels with Justices?
Just something to think about for better convenience
