Childalert - First for road safety
The Little Hedgehog Character I have used (borrowed) for the website, is from this Childalert website for road safety.
I thought it would be good to give a link to their road safety website.
I have not "stolen" the Hedgehog character, nor have I had any intent to make a proffit from using it. In Uk Copywrite law, you can use another persons design, or part of it if it does not constitute as a main part of your design or image.
I just borrowed the Hedgehog to add some kind of road safety element, which I think is important.
I do believe that under the Bill of Rights, that I have legal authority to use any design for the purpose of a petition, without being prosecuted. But that does not mean I just "do what i want" with no regard to other people. I really liked the Hedgehog & thought it was cute, and sweet and I like Hedgehogs and want to also campaign to help stop them getting run over. So I am hoping that Childalert do not mind me using the character. If they want me to stop using it. I will & I will draw my own character. But it is possible to change it or its dimensions, which renders it as different from the original. I am doing my own artwork, completely original as well. But many people do designs which are spin offs of other designs, like Coca Cola logo with different wording, and homages to other logos. Also making it tiny, or other pixel resolution will actually be a resulting different image record. But that is in no way an excuse. Also, many people post various images in forums from other websites. And a political petition is not a commercial advertisement, thus ASA regulations do not apply. I will make a donation to the childalert website.
