Just south of the Worksop junction of the A1 there has been short a 50mph section enforced by fixed speed cameras for some time.
It has had no fake traffic regulation order attempt, so no document fraud but there is no reason for the 50mph limit on the NATIONAL SPEED LIMIT ROAD other than an excuse to put a couple of speed cameras up.
The road is and should be National speed limit.
Currently after recent complaints to the Highways agency about the section they have "conjured up" some roadworks! haha! and instead of a regular National speed limit road being reduced to 50mph through the roadworks they have "spray painted over the 50mph signs and made the roadworks extra narrow on purpose and set the speed limit to 40mph!!! This i have reason to believe is a rouse because in truth there was no reason to further reduce the speed limit below 50mph! Also a similar set up has "co-incidentally" been set up on the A1 at Newcastle upon tyne in the 50mph area which is the brother-sister entrapment area to this one at Worksop and the A1 Beeston area. The three A1 entrapment sites. The Newcastle one will be given its own seperate section on this website.
There is also a fixed speed camera or two on the National speed limit sections of the A1 where there is no possible parking for the police to service the camera and I saw the van parked on the grass verge that was protected by white "no stopping" edge lines. (Remember that the police have no special parking Privileges)- The service unit does not seem to want to walk to the camera from the nearest correct parking area.
Photos to follow soon when i have sorted them all out
